Fort Defiance Indian Hospital

Fort Defiance Indian Hospital (FDIH) is located seven miles from Window Rock, Arizona, the capital of the Navajo Nation. The 36 bed facility, a picturesque structure built in 1938 out of red sandstone, is nestled in a canyon in the Southeast corner of the vast Navajo Reservation. FDIH is staffed by physicians who are Board Certified or eligible in OB-GYN, Pediatrics, Internal medicine, Psychiatry and Family Medicine, Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistants, Dentists and Opometrists round out the medical staff. FDIH annually provides 91,000 ambulatory visits including over 18,000 in the Emergency Room.
