Turn left on Highway 101 from
Madeira Park and drive around
Pender Harbour's longest arm, Gunboat Bay to get to Garden Bay. The Garden Bay Road is a scenic drive through a pastoral farming valley. An access road to the left leads to John Daly Park, a bridge crosses a stream choked with spawning salmon in the fall. Eagles perch in trees along the stream, and then swoop down to grab the dead salmon. Garden Bay Road leads from here to Mount Daniel where one can hike. The view from the mountain's western side stretches over miles of lakes to the north, and the eastern peak offers views of
Pender Harbour. The community of Garden Bay is tucked between the waters of Pender Harbour, Garden Bay and Hospital Bay.
