Gibsons British Columbia |
Located in the southwest portion of Howe Sound, approximately 17 miles west of Vancouver on the Sunshine Coast, Gibsons is bounded by Strait of Georgia on the south. The town lies at the foot of Mount Elphinstone, which is part of the Coast Mountain Range. Gibsons can be reached by taking the ferry from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver to Langdale, then following Highway 101 for three miles; or by ferry from Saltery Bay, outside Powell River, to Earls Cove. Air and sea are the only real means of access to Gibsons.
While in Gibsons, stop at the Visitor InfoCentre near Molly's Reach -- a new seafood restaurant and the former set of the long-running TV series Beachcombers.
