Cariboo Chilcotin Coast

Surrounded by wilderness, this region has a frontier atmosphere. Follow the gold rush trails, visit old style saloons and sleep in a 100 year old cabin. Visit Barkerville, a gold rush town with 40 original buildings and daily street performances by local historic characters. See the gold rush town of Wells and along the Old Cariboo Highway stop at one of the last remaining roadhouses, Cottonwood House.

One of the premier wilderness parks of the province is Tweedsmuir Park on Highway 20. In the region's 8,000 lakes, trout and kokanee abound. Some of the remote lakes offer fly-in fishing. Rodeos are alive & well in Clinton, 100 Mile House, Anahim Lake and the Williams Lake Stampede. Ride the BC Rail and see the Bowron Lake chain.
