The Museum of the Belgian Dynasty chronicles the lives and careers of Belgium's sovereigns, starting with the reign of Leopold I and the genesis of the Belgian nation-state in 1831. Many of the exhibits are dedicated to the important events in the history of Belgium where the monarchs happened to be present: laying the tracks on the first Belgian railway, for instance.
The Museum is housed in the Bellevue Hotel, which also hosts two other Bellevue Museums: the Ruins of the Palace of Charles V and the King Baudouin Memorial.
