The Museum of the Children in Brussels is intended for youngsters ages 4 through 12. Since the emphasis is on interactive learning and the instructors play a major role in the visitor's experience, the Museum might be compared to a day care center or a school in some ways, unlike other similar institutions which resemble giant playgrounds. Workshops at the Museum (typical examples include cooking, theatre, story telling, painting, wordgames, puppet theater) are organized around a central theme. Past themes have included "living together", "communication", "fear", "self-confidence", "our five senses" and "imagination".
