Orval Abbey

Search Florenville

Orval Abbey is known best for its products and its picturesque ruins. The products are beer and cheese, both of which are produced on the abbey grounds. The ruins date from the middle ages to the 18th century, and include a gothic church, a fountain, and the tomb of the first Duke of Luxembourg. Orval is a living abbey, though, and the ruins only take up part of the property -- a new church was completed in 1946.
