Albinger Archaeological Museum

Artifacts spanning 3500 years, all excavated from a site next to Mission San Buenaventura, are on display at the museum. Evidence of an early Indian culture dating from 1600 B.C. and the later Chumash Indians from the year 1500 onwards, are exhibited along with objects dating from the founding of the mission through the early 1900's.

The original mission foundation and an earth oven are in the dig area outside.

Admission to the museum is free but donations are always accepted. The museum is open daily excluding Mondays, Tuesdays, New Years Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
