Clements designed the Historic Adamson House in 1929 for Rhoda Rindge Adamson and her husband, Merritt Huntley Adamson. The house uses exquisite ceramic tile produced by Malibu Potteries (1926-32). This is a hallmark of the house. Additional architectural notes include: hand-carved teak doors, filigree ironwork and lead-framed bottle-glass windows. Visitors can discover the history of Malibu when they visit this Moorish-Spanish Colonial-style mansion built in the 1920's. The Malibu Lagoon Museum adjoins the Adamson House and contains a collection of artifacts, rare photographs and documents, as well as out-of-print publications depicting the colorful history of Malibu.
