Malibu Lagoon Museum

and Historic Adamson House

Stiles O. Clements designed the Historic Adamson House in 1929 for Rhoda Rindge Adamson and her husband, Merritt Huntley Adamson. The house uses exquisite ceramic tile produced by Malibu Potteries (1926-32). This is a hallmark of the house. Additional architectural notes include: hand-carved teak doors, filigree ironwork and lead-framed bottle-glass windows.

Visitors can discover the history of Malibu when they visit this Moorish-Spanish Colonial-style mansion built in the 1920's.

The Malibu Lagoon Museum adjoins the Adamson House and contains a collection of artifacts, rare photographs and documents, as well as out-of-print publications depicting the colorful history of Malibu. Guided tours are given. Closed Mondays, Tuesdays, and holidays.

Admission is nominal but parking costs $6.
