Avenue of Giants is a 33-mile scenic section highway, paralleling the current
Highway 101 between
Phillipsville and Pepperwood as it winds along the course of the
Eel River. Magnificent
Redwoods overshadow the other trees of the surrounding forest, such as oak, madrone, pepperwood and maple. The road has two lanes with many parking areas, picnic sites, and nature trails for a close look at some of California's most beautiful redwood groves.
