Death Valley was formed by geologic action of the earth's crust. Caught between two mountain ranges with no outlet to the ocean, Death Valley is the lowest point in the Western hemisphere, at 282 feet below sea level near Badwater.

Death Valley attracts visitors primarily between early November and late April. Summer temperatures can be extremely hot!
