The Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuge offers visitors 30 miles of self-guiding auto tour routes for observing wildlife at the refuge. An estimated 60% to 70% of Pacific Flyway Waterfowl stop here in the fall, with the peak migration period from late October to mid-November. Hunting is permitted during state seasons.

An extra attraction is bald eagles. As many as 500 of them flock to the refuges during January and February. Many of them can be seen from the auto tour routes. For canoeist, a trail at Tule Lake Refuge is open from July through September. The visitor center is open daily excluding New Years Day and Christmas.
