One of the Spanish Missions, Mission Maria Santisima was founded in 1791. What remains today for visitors to view are adobe ruins, a museum, and a restored chapel. The mission is located 1.3 miles west of Aroyo Seco Road.

Admission to the mission is free and donations are gladly accepted. The mission and museum are open daily excluding Tuesdays, New Years Day, Easter, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
