Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge RR

Experience travel by train, powered by a coal-fired steam locomotive. Train runs through the breathtaking mountain wilderness of the San Juan National Forest following the Animas River to Silverton. The line has been in continuous use since 1882. Trips are scheduled year-round, including seasonal 5- and 9-hour treks; phone for departure times. Food is available. Closed Christmas Day.
