In 1914, Henry Bosco acquired several of the businesses along 7th Street and created the Star Hotel, later renaming it The Hotel Denver . Their own Glenwood Canyon Brew Pub is built on the site of a liquor bottling company that operated in this location from 1906-1921. The Hotel Denver itself now covers an area which originally housed several prosperous enterprises - including four saloons, two rooming houses, a restaurant and grocery store. In addition to antiques which grace The Hotel Denver, they house a few more unique historic treasures within the building, together with their colorful stories, including The Legend of Diamond Jack. Today, AMTRAK trains continue to bring visitors to historic Glenwood Springs. These days, however guests are treated to views of the Colorado River, the newest bakeries and restaurants and the pleasure of staying at The Hotel Denver, one of Glenwood Springs grandest hotels.
