The Bushnell opened in January 1930 and is in its 70th season. Hosting more than 300 events yearly, including major Broadway tours, symphony orchestras, travel films, local arts presentations, and community events, The Halls nationally-recognized arts-in-education program, PARTNERS (Partners in Arts and Education Revitalizing Schools), is a cross-community educational effort in Hartford, West Hartford, Bloomfield and Plainville public schools.
The theater serves as the performance home of Hartford Symphony Orchestra, Dance Connecticut, Connecticut Opera and The Connecticut Forum. Each year, thousands of complimentary tickets are donated to schools, churches and civic groups, making the arts more accessible to everyone.
