Connecticut's first synagogue, built in 1876, is now Charter Oak Cultural Center, a non-profit arts resource for the exploration of the world's cultures. The Center presents musical concerts, dance performances, theatrical productions, lectures, and art exhibitions, plus numerous workshops for children and adults.
