Farmington is located in
Hartford County just west of
Hartford between
Simsbury and
Plainville along Highway 10 on the banks of the Farmington River near
Talcott Mountain State Park.
Farmington is the home of Miss Porter's prep school. Farmington has some historical sites including: Day-Lewis Museum of Indian Arifacts and Stanley-Whitman House.
Local attractions include: Farmington River, Pequabuck River, Batterson Park Pond, Lake Garda, Hill-Stead Museum, Wood Pond, Woodridge Lake, and there is nearby shopping in the state capital Hartford.
