Peabody Museum of Natural History

Located on Whitney Ave., this museum features a collection of fossils of dinosaurs and prehistoric mammals, dioramas of North American habitat groups, birds of Connecticut and collections devoted to the Pacific Islands, the Plains Indians, ancient Egypt and Central and South America.

Open Monday - Saturday, 10am-5pm, Sunday, noon-5pm; closed January 1, Easter, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, December 24-25 and December 31.
