Now a member of the United Church of Christ, this congregation was formed in 1742 during the Great Awakening when the New Lights separated from the established church of the New Haven Colony. This was the second Congregational church on Green - New Haven. The church contains the first Hillebrand Tracker organ in the United States. In 1855, Henry Ward Beecher preached to Capt. Charles B. Line's anti-slavery company of 80 men starting out for Kansas. The sanctuary has been renovated to its original 1815 design. Open by appointment.
