The nature center is located in Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve between
Naples and
Marco Island. The reserve features an interpretive center, a half-mile boardwalk trek through rare plant communities and a butterfly garden. Many species of animal life can be observed from the boardwalk and the observation platform allows the viewing of a variety of birds. On the boat tours, eagles, seagulls, and dolphins are often seen.
