Online Highways Home > Florida > DeLand City Map with Features Henry A DeLand House Museum This historic home, circa 1886, was built by local attorney George Hamlin, developer of the Hamlin orange, and now houses period furnishings and collectibles donated by area residents. Among the highlights of this unique house is the leaded and stained glass around the main entrance doors, the transom above the side entrance and the North parlor fireplace, and in some of the cabinet doors; the glasswork was the hobby of former owner, Dr. Farriss. A large collection of early photographs is on display; a research center on the grounds contains artifacts and a library of books and videotapes about town founder Henry A DeLand, from whom the property was originally purchased.
