Olustee is located in
Baker County west of
Jacksonville between
Lake City and
Baldwin along Highway 90 near Olustee Creek. Situated within the Osceola National Forest.
The name Olustee derives from an Indian term for "blackfish."
Site of the largest Civil War battle in Florida; Confederate militia turned back Union troops here in 1864.
Olustee Battlefield Stat Historic Site is also located in the area.
