Osceola National Forest

The Osceola National Forest encompasses just under 200,000 acres in northeastern Florida, about 50 miles west of Jacksonville. Pine flatwoods and cypress-hardwood swamps cover much of the forest. The red-cockaded woodpecker an endangered species, makes its home here.

Ocean Pond, a natural, 1,760-acre lake, attracts campers, anglers and boaters and features three recreation areas. The Olustee Beach Day-Use Area has fishing facilities and an interpretive trail accessible to people with disabilities.
