This touchie feelie museum for children is part of the
Hawaii Maritime Center. Kids can be "captain" of a submarine, run up the periscope, send orders to the engineroom, operate the diving controls and relax in the crew's quarters.
There is also a lifeboat and the foc'scle of a 19th century sailing ship, complete with steering wheel, capstan and cargo winch. A narrated cassette tour guides kids through this hands-on facility.
It is open daily 9am to 5pm and there is an admission for adults, less for children.
