Iao Valley

This densely vegetated valley is a cul-de-sac whose walls are nearly a mile high. A winding road goes four miles into the valley. It is known as the place where Kamahameha I trapped the army of the Maui Island king.

The valley is part of the West Maui Island Forest Reserve, which includes most of the island's western peninsula.

A marker indicates a rock formation that resembles the profile of JFK. Access is free.
