Named for Judge H.M. Aller, an official of the Chicago & South Western Railroad, Allerton is located in
Wayne County in the
South Central Region of Iowa along Highway 40 near
Bobwhite State Park and the town of
Corydon.
Historic sites include the International Center for Rural Culture and Art, a grand museum located on 93 acres.
