Venture Outdoors knows the recipe for tired mountain bikers with aching muscles, a nightly soak in an outdoor hot springs. The Sun Valley-area offers a 5-day adventure that crosses three mountain ranges and ends up in the town of Atlanta, known as the western gateway to the Sawtooth Wilderness.
The ride starts near the Warm Springs side of Bald Mountain in Sun Valley and proceeds west to Dollarhide Summit. There cyclists head down the South fork of the Boise River to the historic mining town of Featherville to soak some more. Trout fishing is an extra option. On the way to Atlanta, guests learn about gold mining days in Rocky Bar, a ghost town. Total distance is 123 miles, but the difficulty can be adjusted to suit group abilities.
