Canoe Shack
The Canoe Shack offers canoe and kayak trips, on the Fox River and West Branch of the Dupage River.

The Canoe Shack is located about 30 miles west of Chicago on the beautiful Fox River. Though located near a major metropolitan area the Fox has remained peaceful, clean and unspoiled. It has a total length of 195 miles, with 103 in Illinois. It enters the state via the Chain O' Lakes State Park and NE Illinois' Chain O' Lakes system in northwestern Lake County in northeastern Illinois. It flows into the Illinois River near Ottawa.

On the 7 mile section between Elgin and St. Charles, 2 State Nature Preserves, 5 County Forest Preserves, and 5 city parks line the river. The county's only waterfall is also nearby. Canoe trip prices start at $40 and include 2 paddles, 2 life preservers, and shuttle. Reservations are recommended but not required. Please call to reserve your canoe today.
