Carlyle Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area offers excellent public waterfowl hunting opportunities. The facility is located in southwestern Illinois in southwestern
Fayette County on the northern reaches of the lake about 50 miles due east of
St Louis and 10 miles southwest of
Vandalia.
