This 1,750-acre lake in the western half of the
Shawnee National Forest is about six miles south of
Murphysboro just north of the
Jackson County line between U.S. 51 and Illinois 127. It has 40 miles of shoreline with a maximum depth of 60 feet. For boats, there is a 10-horsepower limit.
