Clinton Lake

Clinton Lake is located in central Illinois in De Witt County about midway between Bloomington and Decatur to the east of U.S. Highway 51.

The lake is a man-made 4,900-acre resource especially noted for its great fishing. Crappie and catfish are the most popular takes but the lake also has abundant supplies of hybrid and striped bass, smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, white bass, and bluegill.

A beautiful 1,000-foot white sand beach is the signature area of the lake. Swimmers seeking a fun splash and sunbathers seeking tanning rays both have their wishes granted.

Other activities for users of the area include boating, sailboating, hiking, picnicking, camping and hunting for rabbit, pheasant, squirrel, dove, quail, woodcock, deer, wild turkey and waterfowl. Winter sports include ice fishing, skating, cross country skiing and snowmobiling.
