Crystal Lake

Crystal Lake is located in northeastern Illinois in McHenry County 50 miles northwest of Chicago and southeast of Woodstock along U.S. Highway 14 west of the Fox River near Pistakee Lake.

This picturesque area has plenty of recreatiional opportunities including Moraine Hills State Park and the entire NE Illinois' Chain O' Lakes system.

Crystal Lake is home to McHenry County College, a community college serving the area's continuing educational needs.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 33,078, an increase of 8,386 since 1990.
