Huntley is located in northeastern Illinois straddling the
McHenry County/
Kane County line along SR 47 about 5 miles west of
Algonquin and {lakeinth].
This "smallish" community is set to "explode", populationwise. The 2000 census counted just under 6,000 souls while the 2002 estimate was about 11,000. City officials project a population of about 32,000 by the year 2010.
Recreation in the area includes shooting a round of golf at Pinecrest Golf & Country Club. In addition, the NE Illinois' Chain O' Lakes system is only minutes to the east.
