New Athens

New Athens is located in southwestern Illinois in St. Clair County on the banks of the Kaskaskia River about 15 miles south-southeast of Belleville, the county seat, and about 25 miles southeast of St Louis.

Area recreation revolves around the river and Peabody River King SFWA as well as Kaskaskia River SFWA about 10 miles to the south.
