Athens Municipal Library

Athens Municipal Library, serving an area of 1,760 residents, has a collection of 12,600 books and periodicals; in addition, there are 230 CDs, records, cassettes and other audio materials, as well as . Internet terminals are available for use by the general public.

Staffing consists of one employee, plus volunteers. Annual expenditures on the library collection total $2,200. Patrons make 2,300 visits annually, and check out materials 5,800 times. Fifty-eight percent of all check-outs are children's materials.
