With nearly 900 of its 1,160 acres primarily composed of oak and hickory stands, Ray Norbut State Fish and Wildlife Area offers exceptional habitat for deer and squirrel. In the winter, sightseers often spot bald eagles along the Illinois River at this site, located in western Illinois in Pike County about 40 miles southeast of Quincy and 20 miles west-southwest of Jacksonville 1.5 miles south of Valley City.
