Largest of all the state forests in Illinois, Sand Ridge State State Forest covers 7,100 acres of native oak-hickory forests and pine plantations. Just 25 miles southwest of Peoria, Sand Ridge supports diverse desert flora and fauna in its sandy landscape and also offers a variety of recreational opportunities.
