Shabbona Lake State Park

Named for the Potawatomi chief who briefly possessed a small parcel of land here 10 years after the 1832 Black Hawk War, Shabbona Lake State Park is located in DeKalb County about 1 mile south of U.S. 30, midway between DeKalb and La Salle-Peru. This site includes an interpretive nature trail featuring a cassette tape to help guide visually impaired visitors.
