American Saddle Horse Museum

Located just north of downtown Lexington at the Kentucky Horse Park, this museum exhibits a multi-image theater show tracing the history and current uses of the American Saddlebred horse, the oldest registered American breed of horse and Kentucky's only native breed. The interactive exhibit, 'The Right Horse for You,' lets visitors see how they would look on various famous American Saddlebred horses.

Visitors to the museum can also visit the Saddlebred horses stabled at the Park's Hall of Champions and Breeds Barn. Open daily; closed Mondays and Tuesdays from November to mid-March and major holidays.
