This 1,032-acre park is a working horse farm where visitors can see over 40 different breeds of horses. Included within the park are two exceptional museums, twin theatres, and a Visitor Information Center. A memorial to the great racehorse, Man O'War, stands at the park entrance. Horse-drawn trolley rides and self-guided walking tours of the facilities are offered, as well as demonstrations that highlight the region's equine heritage. The International Museum of the Horse includes a collection of 19th-century horse-drawn carriages and racing vehicles, as well as changing exhibitions of equine art; the park's education department offers public programs and activities.
Other activities include horseback and pony rides, over 60 scheduled horse shows, and steeplechase and racing events. A public campground is available within the park.
Park open daily mid-March through the end of October; closed Mondays and Tuesdays November to mid-March and major holidays.
