Located at the corner of Sycamore and Richmond roads, this was the estate of 'The Great Compromiser,' Henry Clay, from 1811 until his death in 1952. Surrounded by gardens and woods, the 18-acre mansion is now a museum furnished with Clay family possessions. Outbuildings on the grounds include ice houses, a smokehouse, dairy cellar, privy and carriage house. Guided tours of this registered National Historic Landmark are available. Open to the public daily April through October.
