Featured on the park grounds are replicas of the log cabin boyhood home of Thomas Lincoln, father of
Abraham Lincoln, and the blacksmith and carpenter shops where he learned his trade. Displays include contemporary period tools and artifacts and furniture that was made by the elder Lincoln. Also located on the grounds is the restored Berry House, in which Abraham Lincoln's mother, Nancy Hanks, lived for 14 years prior to her marriage to Thomas; exhibits here include elegant pieces of pioneer-era furniture and a copy of the Lincoln marriage bond. Exterior views can be had of the two-story Federal-style Mordcai Lincoln home, circa 1810.
Recreation at the park includes an 18-hole golf course, a public fishing lake, picnicking facilities, and a playground.
Located just five miles south of Springfield, the park is open daily.
