Is one of the oldest plantation homes in the lower Mississippi Valley. The central portion of the house was built 1787-90, and the wings, or garconnieres, were added about 1812. The main living quarters are on the second floor to protect them from seasonal floods. An unusual high-peaked roof is a West Indian style that allows better air circulation.
Visitors can observe the continuing restoration of the exterior Creek-style architecture and explore the various outbuildings.
