Franklin

Franklin is located in St. Mary Parish (of which it is the parish seat) within the Cajun Country Region southeast of Lafayette, between New Iberia and Morgan City along Hwy 182 near Jeanerette, Baldwin, and Grand Lake.

The population estimate for July 1, 1998 was 8,593, a decrease of 411 since 1990.
