Built in 1792, the LaBranche Plantation Dependency House on Historic River Road in St. Rose, LA is the closest plantation to the city of New Orleans. Here you can enjoy all the colorful aspects of the grounds, including the authentic slave quarter, the largest pecan tree in the state of Louisiana, Zachery Taylor's bathtub, and the grave of Hitler's horse - Nordlicht. Or you can take a tour that includes a two hundred plus year old Garconniere (French for bachelor quarters) completely furnished with antiques. The proprietors can arrange parties, receptions and meetings in the house.
