Old State Capitol

The Old State Capitol building is a Gothic Revival castle built in 1847. Burned by the Union Army, the castle was repaired in 1882 and served as the state capitol until 1932. Particulary interesting is the large skylight of colored glass panes. The building, which now houses hands-on exhibits about Louisiana politics and history, also contains the state film and video archives. Please call for hours and the cost for admission.
