The commune of Differdange, population 18,201, is located in the far southeast of Luxembourg, on the French border. It is the third most populous municipality in Luxembourg, behind
Luxembourg City and
Esch-sur-Alzette. Differdange long ago acquired the nickname Steeltown because of the large quantity of steel produced there.
Differdange (population 5,100), Lasauvage, Obercorn, Niedercorn, and Fousbann are boroughs within the commune of Differdange.
The N13 roadway passes through all of Differdanges boroughs except for Lasauvage, which is set off to the west from the others.
