The National Museum of History and Art is one of Luxembourg Citys major cultural institutions. The items in the collection span thousands of years, from an extensive gathering of Gallo-Roman antiquities, through masterpieces of 20th century expressionism. One of the most popular exhibits is the Luxembourg Life installation, featuring artifacts from 17th-19th century bourgeois Luxembourgians, assembled in 4 former private residences. The Museum also organizes and hosts frequent temporary exhibitions.
