The National Museum of Mining is located 106 meters below ground, in a decomissioned mine. Displays featuring samples of fossils, ore, and maps introduce the visitor to the science of mining, then mannekins in action poses illustrate mining techniques and tools. The tools include rare, archaic implements from the earliest days of mining in Luxembourg through modern pneumatic devices, and the visitor is given a vivid illustration of how mining has changed over the centuries.
